Process note

How this is being made

I use AI while writing this.

Not as a ghostwriter. More like an over-caffeinated workshop partner with no taste unless supervised.

The story, characters, revisions, cuts, and final wording are mine. I use AI to help with things like continuity passes, alternate phrasings, chapter structure, catching setup lines that no longer pay off, and occasionally asking, “does this scene still make sense after I made way too many edits?”

Sometimes it suggests a useful sentence. Sometimes it suggests exactly the sentence that makes me want to walk into the sea. The useful parts get rewritten until they sound like they belong here. The rest goes where bad drafts go: into the giant folder of drafts, because my ADHD makes me think throwing anything away is a capital offense.

I am saying this plainly because AI is part of the process, and pretending otherwise would be silly. But this is not a generated serial being shoveled onto the internet by a machine with a fantasy-name generator and a monthly allotment of tokens. It is a story I am writing, revising, arguing with, and publishing when I think the chapter is fit to be seen in public.

If that matters to you, fair enough. I’d rather you know.
